We transformed this bungalow to enhance its curb appeal, blending modern design elements with its existing architecture. A new, custom-built garage provides ample storage with a stylish and practical design.
We added bold, contemporary touches to align the exterior with the mid-century modern style inside the home. The front of the house now features LUX wood-grain steel siding, classic white Hardie board & batten with a modern Hardie panel grid around the front door. We replaced the fascia and gutters with black to tie all the colours together, and refinished the wood soffits to return them to their original, rich colour.
A LUX front door was installed, featuring fully adjustable hinges and a multi-lock system to keep the client’s home secure. To help with budgeting, we used cost-effective vinyl siding on the sides and rear of the home, enhanced by a LUX feature around the back door to tie in the design.
The original small garage was replaced with a custom-built, recessed structure featuring a shed roof design that mirrors the roofline of the existing home. The garage now sits 3ft lower than the yard, offering the storage benefits inside, without impeding the view or daylight to the home. Fully insulated and finished, the client’s new garage looks stylish and complements the look of the home while providing space for their vehicles and other outdoor supplies.
