We are currently seeking a full-time residential Lead Carpenter to join our team. In this role, you will oversee staff and subcontractors, track job progress, and ensure quality control on-site. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, you will actively engage in carpentry work, including demolition, framing, window and door installations, deck building, custom millwork, and interior finishing. Hands-on experience in all aspects of home renovation and construction is essential, as well as the ability to coordinate with sub-trades and manage multiple job sites.

The Role

  • Completes hands-on carpentry work on project sites
  • Provides direction, coordination, supervision and inspections on multiple project sites
  • Assist the Owner and Project Supervisor
  • Organizes site activities
  • Monitors project scope, site timelines, and budgets
  • Assists with scheduling and oversees quality control of work completed by staff and subcontractors
  • Trains and mentors in-house staff to complete job functions
  • Completes administrative paperwork (safety reports, timesheets, budget reports)
  • Helps prepare material take-offs and tool lists for projects
  • Ensures job sites are kept clean and safe and PPE is used
  • Completes maintenance and inventory of company tools and equipment
  • Liaise with clients and ensures constant communications

What you bring

  • Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter Certification is preferred (exceptions may be made if work experience is exceptional)
  • Minimum 5 years experience on residential renovation sites
  • Minimum 3 years experience on home-building sites
  • Ability to read plans and blueprints plus have general knowledge of building codes
  • Experience supervising and directing crews and sub-trades
  • Experience managing multiple job sites from start to finish including estimating, budgets, scheduling
  • Must be alert and safety conscious
  • High standards of quality of work, keen attention to detail, and outstanding customer service
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle, and basic tools for daily use
