DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Lead carpentry crews, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure projects meet scheduling and budget goals while exceeding client expectations through professional communication.
  • Ensure projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes while maintaining high quality standards. 
  • Lead and supervise a team of carpenters, optimizing their skillset to deliver the best results within the budget.
  • Provide clear direction to crew members and subcontractors to ensure project targets are achieved.
  • Attend and provide input at Project Meetings with the Project Supervisor and Project Manager, and proactively identify solutions to support ongoing & future projects.
  • Lead the onsite crew to identify and manage opportunities and risks to achieve the best possible results for scope, quality, schedule, and financial targets.
  • Manage receivership, storage, and protection of materials and ensure a clean, organized and professional presentation of work sites. 
  • Support the crew with professional development through GSR Meetings.
  • Support and maintain a healthy, happy work environment and company culture.

 

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Highly skilled Lead Carpenter with 5 years’ experience supervising and developing crew members on a construction site. 
  • Experience supervising and directing subcontractors
  • Accreditation as a Red Seal Carpenter (exceptions may be made if work experience is exceptional)
  • Experience with energy efficient building technology, techniques and their applications is an asset
  • Reliable transportation with valid Driver’s License.
  • Own tools for daily use.

 

COMPENSATION:

  • Competitive compensation at $33-$36/hour
  • Vacation pay is paid out bi-weekly at a rate of 6%
  • 9 paid statutory holidays

  • A company truck will be provided
