Are you looking for remarkable door products for your garage and your entry door as well? A great garage door and front door can totally change the look of your home, and increase its curb appeal. What kind of styles are available? Check out these modern options we used on this home renovation:
If your garage is in the front of the house, the garage door is a major element of your home’s curb appeal. Even if your garage is situated in the back, you may still want to level up the look of the door. What are your options? Sometimes a coat of paint can freshen it up, but if you’re looking to replace it, there are several styles that can totally change the look of your home and garage.
Go for Garage Doors with Windows
In this renovation, we chose both a garage door and an entry door with windows in them. The major benefit of this style is how much light they let in! Sure, they look sleek and modern, but they also brighten up your interior.
If the windows let in a little too much light, you have the option of tinting them. But in this case, the house had no south-facing windows and so the homeowners wanted as much light as possible to come in.
There are an endless array of options for the arrangement of the windows, and so you can really choose a design that fits with the style of your home. It’s one way to add a unique character!
Coordinate Your Garage Door with Your Front/Entry Door
In this renovation, we chose to match the garage door and front door. The colour is the same, and the vertical window complements the horizontal windows on the garage door nicely.
Colour is one way to tie your front door and garage door together. If you’d rather not match them exactly, you can choose colours that fit in with the colour palette of your home’s exterior. Selecting attractive colours is one area where professional guidance can be helpful, but if you have an urge to incorporate a personal touch through colour, there are many resources online about colour theory and which colours go together.
Another way to coordinate the two doors is to choose doors in a similar style. Both of these doors are modern, with a simple and clean look. The windows in each are not centred, but rather off to one side of the door.
If your home is more traditional, you may want to choose doors with more traditional style elements, such as mouldings, raised panels, and inlays.
Think about the overall of your home and how your garage door and entry door can fit into that.
The doors in this garage/entryway renovation we did were provided by Lux Windows and Glass—great products!
